ADDRESS TO HUMANITY takes up a popular recurring motif from science fiction and wraps it in its own mythology: In the face of an extraterrestrial threat, people form a complete unity under the leadership of a heroic president. The extraterrestrials cannot yet be seen by the public. The highest level of secrecy prevails, and mass panic must be prevented. Only in a few places is it possible to protect themselves from their infiltration through special measures. Community is required! The audience forms a group and remains still. Concentrated faces betray growing determination and even frenetic approval.
In an audio-installation space, yuri500 creates a situation that puts human behavior and rhetorical procedures to the test, somewhere between a threatening scenario and pathos. Equipped with headphones, the audience enters a theatrical experimental setup in small groups.
