INTO PIECES deals with the theme of `unity and diversity`. When are many the ONE? When does the ONE fall back to many? Also, how can a unit suddenly be more than the multitude of its parts? The group members come together, and for a moment the most diverse body parts seem to belong to an essential whole. It seems as if this being cannot exist without all of its parts. If one part fails, the structure collapses; the individuals stand there lost, as if they appear LESS as individual bodies. The dancers separate like cells, only to then, almost unconsciously, reunite, and like a gear, the actions and scenes merge into one another and convey the feeling of an unbroken sequence. The atmosphere is enhanced by the unbroken music of Christian Fischer (Tim Puma Mimi), which creates a forward momentum to new depths. How does the mechanism work? Where is the source of movement, the motor and the heart that can send this forward impulse unhindered through several bodies? What laws does it follow? What is the appeal of this timeless space in which the projection of the globe stands like a moon in the sky?
